Julie has over eighteen years of industry experience at leading
financial institutions including UBS Financial (formerly Paine Webber)
and Citigroup. Julie was a Managing Director at Citigroup, serving a
decade in various legal and compliance roles supporting both the
Institutional Clients Group and the Global Wealth Management Division.
Julie gained substantial knowledge of the markets as well as investment
products including investment advisory products, mutual funds, life
insurance, variable annuities and mortgage related products during her
tenure at various financial services firms.
Julie's background as a securities lawyer and compliance executive is an
asset as she is continually mindful of SEC and FINRA regulations in
making recommendations that are in her clients' best interests. Her
legal background is also a good fit in terms of advising clients on
estate planning issues that naturally arise in the course of the
financial planning process. She is committed to working at Christopher
Street Financial because of its reliance upon an independent investment
advisory platform, which she believes is the model that best aligns an
advisor with their clients' needs and avoids the inherent conflicts of
interests that often exist at some large institutions.
Julie graduated cum laude from New York Law School in 1992 and
distinguished herself as an editor of the Law Review. While attending
law school she interned at the American Civil Liberties Union and the
federal district court's Pro Se Clerk's Office where she advocated on
behalf of indigent individuals. Julie worked as a litigation associate
at Schulte Roth & Zabel in NYC where she worked on securities class
action suits and broker-dealer arbitration matters as well as on behalf
of the firm's pro bono clients. Julie graduated from NYU's College of
the Arts and Science with honors in Psychology, which was her major.
Immediately after college, Julie worked as a social worker at a homeless
shelter for women at NYC's Lenox Hill Neighborhood Association.
Julie lives in Maplewood, New Jersey with her partner, Maddy, who is a
psychotherapist in private practice in N.Y.C. and Maplewood, N.J. They
have two daughters. Julie volunteers with New Jersey's Garden State
Equality, a state-wide civil rights organization, in their struggle to
obtain marriage equality for all. Their oldest daughter testified at
the New Jersey State Senate's Judiciary Committee hearing in December
2009, along with Julie and her partner in support of the marriage
equality bill. |

Take A Deep Breath And Do Your Taxes
